The post will be based in the EC region, specifically at the Waainek Wind Farm (6 kilometers south-west of Grahamstown, along the Highlands Road in the Makana Municipality). There are a total of eight V112 3.0755MW turbines at this wind farm, for a total installed capacity of 24.6MW.

Responsibilities:

• Process adherence, service quality, safety requirements, and performance-level service delivery ​
• Positive and successful working relationships are developed with assigned workers.
• People’s abilities, competencies, and training actions (safety walks/talks) are managed.
• Continuous compliance with Vestas standards across the dedicated site’s processes, procedures, and tools
• Ensures regional legislation compliance ​
• Dedicated work orders receive resources.
• Daily staff management and issue resolution with external service providers, customers, and internal stakeholders
• Function-specific processes, methods, and/or tools
• Monitor technician performance and task completion to control costs. ​
• Approve work and timesheets
• Manage medium/long-term service personnel composition.
• Track and improve site performance
• Contractor inductions
• Approve techs’ and subs’ weekly timesheets.
• Monthly ED people/reporting
• First-level support for technicians
• Management-required reports and documents

Qualifications:

• Professional Engineering Degree Program (National higher Diploma, National Diploma, Trade Test, BTech or equivalent as a minimum),
• Experience in the Wind Industry for a Minimum of Three Years

Competencies:

• able to work on their own,
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills; being able to speak a local language is a plus.
• Able to work well with Microsoft Office and SAP ERP software.

• Strong knowledge of how wind turbines work,
• License to drive.
