The Part
The EU Business Development Advisor is part of the EU partnership/funding team and helps AAI members enhance EU Development Aid income (INTPA and EU Delegations). The EU Business Development Advisor stays current on EU financing trends, priorities, modalities, eligibility criteria, and guidelines. This includes CONCORD participation (FFSD NDICI Group). They’ll help AAI members communicate with EU delegations, establish solid programs, and develop funding submissions. Identify and promote EU development cooperation funding opportunities, monitor proposal development for EU applications, provide technical guidance on proposals and eligibility criteria, and oversee quality assurance and risk assessment processes. The EU BDA will work with the EU BDA for ECHO and new partnerships and the EU BDA for national programs.

Those we are trying to locate
- Proven track in managing and writing successful fundraising bids for institutional donors like EU, ECHO, DFID, and UN. Able to provide clear guidance on donor requirements and procedures to other staff.
- Expertise in all aspects of EU proposal requirements, standards, and criteria, as well as EU funding opportunities
- Possessing both strong written and oral communication skills, the candidate is able to effectively convey projects to a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent data handler who pays close attention to detail and can quickly sift through large amounts of data
- to the point, with personal accountability for its quality
- Knowledgeable in creating proposal log frames and budgets.
- with a strong desire to enhance the proposal-writing process through reflection and discovery,
- Proven abilities in leading discussions, imparting knowledge, and expanding capabilities.
- The ability to work successfully and manage relationships at all levels in a multi-cultural setting requires excellent interpersonal, negotiation & influencing, written & verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work well and manage relationships from a distance.
- Capacity to act independently with limited guidance while yet thinking strategically and creatively about how to handle several, competing priorities.
