Finance and Administrative Officer

Objective of Position:

To aid the Institute in its provision of financial and administrative support. You will play a critical role in the Institute’s and its projects’ financial and administrative operations, working closely with the Business Development Manager to ensure everything runs smoothly. Under the direction of the Business Development Manager, the Finance and Administrative Assistant will assist with financial administration tasks such as managing the Institute’s operating accounts, compiling financial information for various funding returns, handling day-to-day financial management, and performing other general administrative duties.

Important Responsibilities:

  • Create and update all relevant administrative records, including personnel, financial, and logistical databases;
  • Official calls and correspondence management;
  • Budgeting, accounting, and bookkeeping assistance;
  • Tracking office supplies and preparing to replenish when needed;
  • Administrative reports and presentations for office efficiency.

Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED plus two or more years of relevant job experience;
  • Accounting/book-keeping (preferred but not required) familiarity with accounting software packages;
  • Collecting and analyzing data, ideally with some background in using electronic data recording tools;
  • Background in providing administrative help.

Skills

  • Possessing both excellent oral and written communication abilities
  • Experience with all Microsoft Office products is preferred.
  • Exactness in documenting complex financial data
  • Having the ability to work both collaboratively and independently is essential.
  • Capacity for efficient interaction with peers and superiors
  • Capacity to work quickly and efficiently under stress, organize and prioritize one’s own work, handle several, conflicting priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • A cognizance and acceptance of the importance of equal treatment
  • Capacity for ensuring efficient office procedures
  • Willingness to make short trips within the area if necessary.

Employment Agreement/Terms:

Initial 6-month contract, with potential for extension dependent on success.
