Role Purpose


The retention consultant must provide professional, efficient, and accurate service to clients and businesses in compliance with Momentum Insure’s retention strategy. This person must also handle cancellations effectively to identify problems, prevent more cancellations, and promote MI retentions. This role requires efficiency and fulfilling deadlines.

  • Matric/Grade 12
  • NQF 5 or an equivalent qualification is needed,
  • FAIS Credits (minimum of 32 in personal short-term insurance before 2010 or Full qualification in commercial and personal insurance, whichever is required)
  • FAIS specific qualifications RE5
  • Experience in the short-term insurance business for 3 years
  • 1 year’s experience in holding on to people

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communicate with clients that want to cancel to retain them.
  • Analyze clients’ loss ratio, rate, etc. to determine if they may be retained within retention parameters.
  • Take responsibility for all retention-related calls, emails, and messages.
  • Timely completion of any accompanying computer or manual transaction.
